Emily Bodley
Tuesday - November, 09 @ 7:00pm
Emily Bodley is a vocalist, lyricist, and musician currently based in Portland, Maine.
Emily has been captivating audiences with her original music and unique set of cover tunes for nearly a decade, compared most often to the stylings of Norah Jones, Rachael Price (of Lake Street Dive), & Sarah Vaughan. From sports bars to spotlit stages, Emily fills every room with a compelling warmth that you are sure to remember. While still considerably fresh to the Maine music scene, Bodley has spent the last three years performing with a variety of acts including but not limited to: Flounce, Bad Combo, Yeahman, Hambone, Myles Bullen, Getmo, and her new duo project Grumble (a collaboration with Wayitworks). She is an artistic experience to behold.
Featuring John Suntken:
John Suntken is a drummer and educator currently based in Portland, Maine. For the past six years he lived and worked in New York City, becoming one of the most in-demand young drummers in the metropolitan area.
Suntken has performed with award winning artists, including Huntertones, Bob Lanzetti, Ben Stivers, members of Snarky Puppy, Joseph Gallant, two time billboard #1 country artist and songwriter CJ Solar, Grammy winner Dan Wilson, Felix Pastorius, and many others. He’s never had a favorite gig; it’s a joy for him to play with other musicians who love to make music.
Featuring Nicholas Thompson-Brown:
Nicholas Thompson-Brown (also known as Wayitworks) is a multi-instrumentalist & producer from Portland, Maine. When he’s not adding his bass and sax stylings to bands such as The Meddybemps, Yeahman, Bandwich, or Viva & The Reinforcements, he is in his studio using a variety of instruments to create intricate, multi-layered original music that haphazardly combines influences from jazz, r&b, electronic, and contemporary classical music. His first two EPs, Semi Prologue and Small Windows are available to download on Bandcamp and streaming on all music platforms.
