Ramblin' Red at Blue . . . |
Blue is thrilled to welcome Ramblin' Red on Thursday, September 10th at 8:00pm! Ramblin' Red is a fun-loving, folk-bluegrass quartet with serious soul and unrivaled harmonies, hailing from Portland, Maine. Inspired by the crashing of the ocean, the creak of the back porch, the crunch of homemade tacos and the wonders of wine, Ramblin' Red takes you down original folk roads with old-time twists and bluegrass turns in funky dance-off shoes. And they always bring you home satisfied. They are: Anna Maria Tocci (vocals, guitar, bass), Sorcha Cribben-Merrill (vocals, guitar, banjo), Patia Maule (vocals, fiddle) and Therese Workman (vocals, guitar, bass).

Music of the Sicilian Underground . . . |
On Tuesday, September 15th at 8:00pm, Blue will be presenting, "Music of the Sicilian Underground" and will feature Amos Libby & Carl Dimow. The songs presented during this performance are commonly referred to as 'Canto di Malavita' or 'Songs from a Life of Crime' and include ballads, of revenge, songs of imprisonment, and passionate laments from the heart of Sicily and Southern Italy. With simple melodies and lyrics that are often both poetic and brutal, these songs paint a vivid picture of a subculture born from poverty in which a life of crime, with all of its codes, symbols and rules, are expressed in a highly evocative Southern Mediterranean mix of indisputable style and moving pathos. Also included in the program are traditional songs of love, loss, and immigration from Sicily, Calabria, Naples, and Abruzzo.
There has been a slight change to the format; we will be serving our regular menu, so bring your appetites! Tickets are $12 and are on sale now at Blue!

What if you could enjoy the best extra mature cheddar in the world right here at Blue? In that category, the Wyke Farms Trophoy was, in fact, awarded to Fiscalini for their 18 month cheddar and, thanks to our friends at The Cheese Iron, Blue is serving it up! Sharp, creamy and full of life, Fiscalini 18 month cheddar is made from raw cow's milk in Modesto, California.

|
Our three featured cheeses, provided by The Cheese Iron in Scarborough, are served on a heavy slate with marcona almonds, honey and/or plum preserves & a baked baguette. The cost is $7 for one cheese, $11 for two or all three for $15. |
