Taking their combined interests in a variety of genres, After the Rodeo brilliantly infuses meandering jazz, traditional blues and bluegrass along with the reminiscent charm of cowboy folk, associated with such artists as Guy Clark and Townes Van Zandt. JOE WALSH is a musician who legendary fiddler Darol Anger called “one of my favorite musicians on earth.” Recognized as one of the foremost contemporary mandolinists, Joe has also won acclaim and affection for his vocals and his talents on a number of other instruments, including guitar and octave mandolin. With two solo albums to his credit, he tours internationally with the award-winning bluegrass supergroup The Gibson Brothers, and was recently named Managing Director of the American Roots Music Program at the Berklee College of Music. LINCOLN MEYER is a native to the mid-west, Indiana and Missouri, but has been established in New England since the early 90's. Over the years Lincoln has been a part of numerous bands and recording projects throughout the region: played and toured with The New England Bluegrass Band, banjo extraordinaire Tony Trischka, the incredibly talented April Verch and most recently he's been on the road with Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen. Meyers teaches guitar and mandolin and has taught and been involved in numerous guitar, banjo and mandolin workshops around the country.

Heather Hardy is a singer- songwriter from midcoast Maine. Heather blends her unique voice with rich melodies, often highlighting mouth trumpet instrumentals in her songs. In July of 2012, she placed second in the New England Songwriting Contest at the Ossipee Folk Festival for the song, "Hospice and Cleavage." She is co-organizer of the Round Top Coffee House in Damariscotta, Maine.

Singer/Songwriter Britt (Sawdon) Connors, born and raised in West Boylston, MA, is hard at work preparing to record her second album, a follow-up to to her acclaimed 2010 release “The Bad Side of Good”. For the past decade, Britt has been honing her craft as a songwriter while building a loyal following and performing at some of the top venues in the Boston area. In the past year, Britt has performed at renowned Boston clubs such as the Beehive, Ryles, the Lizard Lounge, Copperfield's, and to sold-out audiences at the Regattabar and Johnny D’s, legendary concert clubs. She has also performed up and down the east coast from Maine to Florida. Britt’s current working band, "Bourbon Renewal," is comprised of some of Boston’s most in-demand musicians, a tight working unit that that brings her bluesy, pop-oriented music to new heights. Britt also performs her music solo and in various duo and trio settings for more intimate venues. With her talented band and formidable songwriting and singing, Britt plans to continue her momentum and reach larger audiences with her next album.

The John Funkhouser Trio is an energetic, accessible blend of modern jazz, funk, blues, 20th century classical, Indian classical, and European and American folk music which create a funky, groove oriented, fresh and original sound. Although the band consists of the standard jazz trio instrumentation of piano, bass and drums, the sound of the band is anything but standard. Fired by Berklee Professor John Funkhouser’s “explosive piano playing” (Boston Globe) and set in bold relief by his “exquisite, tight originals” (The Octopus, Champaign, IL) the band stretches the limits of traditional jazz forms. One piece in the band’s working repertoire is over half an hour of continuous music. Funkhouser draws for inspiration on great composers of extended musical works from all genres, like Charles Mingus, Frank Zappa, Igor Stravinsky, and Phish leader Trey Anistasio. Smoothly integrating composed music with improvisation, “FunkHouse takes the listener on a ride through the gamut of emotional territories,” (North Denver Tribune, Denver, CO), from wild, funky romps to sumptuous, Keith Jarrett inspired ballads to burning modern jazz, often in unusual meters. As pianist Kenny Werner put it, the band is “definitely on to something special.” The John Funkhouser Trio is developing an increasing reputation, building its enthusiastic fan base one concert at a time. The band has headlined the Jazz In June festival in Oklahoma City, and has played at several major music festivals, including the Riverbend Festival in Chattanooga, TN, the Mellon Jazz Festival in Pittsburgh, PA, and Jazz In The Sangres in Westcliffe, CO. They have shared festival billings with the likes of Tuck & Patti, Javon Jackson, Mose Allison, Chicago, and Jethro Tull. The Trio has mounted two national tours, performing in nineteen cities including New York, Chicago, Washington DC, Kansas City and Denver. The band has played in such New York clubs as the Knitting Factory, Small’s, and Cornelia St. Café. Funkhouser’s Trio was based in New York City until 2000, and is now based in Boston with a new rhythm section of Mike Connors on drums and Greg Loughman on bass. The band has three CDs of original material to its credit: FunkHouse, released in 1998 and FunkHouse II, released in 2003, which includes two extended suites and three shorter compositions, and Time, released in 2010.

The charming duo adds a unique sound to the American folk tradition, featuring original songs that echo familiar melodies while creating new waves with radical, queer lyrics and uncommon instrumentation. Tina & Her Pony formed in Asheville, N.C., in 2009 following the chance meeting of Tina Collins (tenor banjo, tenor ukulele, guitar, vocals) and Quetzal Jordan (cello, guitar, vocals). Collins and Jordan spent the last two years holed up in the high desert mountain town of Taos, N.M., making music and friends, and becoming one of the iconic artist colony's most beloved performing acts.

The vocal power of guitarist Robert Sylvain and charismatic fiddler Hawk Kallweit supplies a one-two punch that’s instantly compelling and distinctive. With Maine's own true accordian ace Junior Stevens on button-box, and the unstoppable combination of Tom Jacques on upright bass and Kris Day on drums, Sylvain's Acadian Aces deliver heartwrenching lovesongs and electrifying dance numbers that can bring even the most stoic New Englanders to their feet. Rooted in classic cajun two-steps and waltzes, the repertoire also folds in elements of creole and zydeco traditions along with original Americana and rock 'n roll sensibilities.

He has been a part of some of the area’s premier bands including the Kevin Midgley Players (Delta blues), the Mutineers (country/folk), Hoffman and Trippe (Celtic); in the southeastern U.S., he was a member of Meridian (Celtic) and Maniacal Bozo (blues/rock). JAKE HENRY has become a familiar face on the bluegrass concert and festival circuit in recent years, as his band the New North wowed audiences throughout the Midwest with their hard-driving style and original songs. Their self-titled album won high praise in publications such as Volume One Magazine and Bluegrass Today. Jake is also an award-winning songwriter. She draws on cultural influences from both the Old World and the New, and to that end, Geneviève’s original songs are raw, multi-faceted, and mature. With their perception and poetry, her lyrics reflect a solidified spirit – and the voice that sings them is one skilled beyond others of her years. Her folk and blues compositions are at times playful and witty; other times, achingly poignant. Regardless of its emotion, though, or the language in which it’s sung, Geneviève’s art is always stirring.

Hee Hawk is a jazz, folk, and new music ensemble. The group has been performing across New England for the past year and is a rising force in the world of acoustic music. Hee Hawk performs the original compositions of pianist Adam Lipsky. With strong roots in the jazz tradition, the players in Hee Hawk apply their harmonic awareness and improvisation technique to the original pieces. While some pieces have more open melodies reminiscent of Appalachian string music, others have subtle, more intricate harmonic content that shows influence from such masters as Duke Ellington and Charles Mingus. With the highly emotive sensibilities of Appalachian and Depression-era folk music, the group weaves between consonance and dissonance bringing out all the soul of the blues. The sound of Hee Hawk is raw, elegant, and urgently vital.
